Cartagenia launches Referrer Portal solution

Leuven, Belgium – June 01, 2011 — Cartagenia today announces the general availability of its Referrer Portal solution, a new module available to extend the Cartagenia BENCH platform.

The Referrer Portal enables secure, integrated communication with your referring physicians and external clinicians. The flexible assay requisitioning system provides electronic test request facilities to your clinical referrers and external customers. The electronic assay request forms are fully customizable, and can hence include not just administrative information and reason for referral but are also integrated with industry-standard medical nomenclatures, such as the Human Phenotype Ontology.

The electrionic requisitioning system available in the Referrer Portal guarantees that all relevant information is available up-front to the lab, in a structured and standardized format, with controlled input, and without risk of transcription errors.

The Referrer Portal’s automated reporting module, in turn, allows finished and approved lab reports to be automatically made available to the referrer’s private and secure portal space. Through a controled publishing and approval mechanism, lab reports can can be tracked for current status, managed, retrieved and archived. The reports can either originate from your internal IT infrastructure or from the BENCH report generation module, which uses flexible document templating system, allowing rich and informative lab reports annotated with relevant links to on-line resources.

The Referrer Portal offers test requisition and lab report tracking, statistics, and it communicates directly with your lab or hospital LIMS systems, allowing an end-to-end automation from request to finished lab report. Importantly, the Referrer Portal solution seamlesly integrates with the Cartagenia BENCH Lab CNV, Lab NGS and Clinic solutions.
